Brochure Module: Text

Text modules are how you add and style any copy in your brochure, from headers to body paragraphs to bulleted lists. This article covers adding a text module, the styling options available, and how to work with rich text inside a block.

Header vs. Text Modules

There are two kinds of text blocks in the builder.

Page Title / Header module

  • Comes with every page by default (you can delete it like any other module).

  • Includes quick options like the overline above the main header.

  • Defaults to your title/header font.

Text module

  • Added manually wherever you need it.

  • Defaults to your body font.

Both behave the same way once you're styling them.

Adding a Text Module

  1. Open your Brochure.

  2. Click Add Module.

  3. Select Text.

  4. Place the block anywhere on the page grid.

  5. Drag a corner to resize it.

  6. Click into the block and start typing, or paste in your text.

Click the text module to open its settings on the right.

Layout Options

  • Horizontal padding: adds space on the left and right inside the module.

  • Vertical padding: adds space above and below inside the module.

  • Vertical alignment: top, center, or bottom within the block.

  • Width and height: set the module dimensions manually.

  • Page padding: click anywhere outside a module to set global page padding (40 is the default, and you can lower it to 20 for more usable space).

Borders and Backgrounds

  • Border: add and color a border around the text block.

  • Solid background: useful when text sits on top of a photo or a busy background and needs to stay readable.

  • Gradient background: set a starting color and ending color, then control:

    • Gradient opacity

    • Gradient position

    • Direction (vertical or horizontal)

    • Flip the gradient

Rich Text Formatting

Select any portion of text inside the block to style just that selection. Options appear in the Selected Text panel on the right or in the toolbar.

  • Font weight: light, regular, or bold (options vary by font)

  • Italic

  • Underline

  • Strikethrough

  • Bulleted list

  • Numbered list

For lists, select your text and switch it to bullets or numbers. To add space between bullet points, press Enter twice to create a line break between items.

Readability Tips

  • Match text color to the background. Use white or light gray on dark backgrounds, and a dark font on light backgrounds.

  • Use a solid or gradient background behind text placed over photos.

  • Check your padding and alignment before finalizing the page so blocks line up cleanly with the rest of the layout.
