How To Use Custom Page Templates

Updated over a month ago

Overview

Custom Page Templates allow you to save any page you build in the Page Builder and reuse it across all your properties. This feature helps you standardize layouts, save time, and scale your content creation by eliminating the need to rebuild commonly used pages.

Key Benefits

  • Reuse across properties: Templates are available globally across all deals.

  • Save time: Avoid rebuilding frequently used pages.

  • Consistency: Maintain uniform layouts and structure.

  • Flexibility: Create unlimited custom pages tailored to each deal.

Creating a Template

There are two ways to create a Custom Page Template:

Option 1: Create a Template from an Existing Page

You can turn any page you’ve already built into a reusable template:

  1. Open the Page Builder.

  2. Configure your page (e.g., add Sources & Uses, images, or other components).

  3. Click Create Template from This Page.

  4. Enter a name for your template.

  5. Click Create Template.

Your template is now saved and ready to use across future properties.

Option 2: Create a Template from Scratch

You can also build a new template from the ground up:

  1. Navigate to Template Pages in the right hand panel.

  2. Click + New.

  3. Design your template page as needed.

  4. Save your template.

This template will now be available for reuse in future brochures.

Where to Find Templates

Once created, templates appear in the Brochure Outline under a new section called Template Pages (located at the bottom).

Using a Template

To add a template to a deal:

  1. Go to the Template Pages section in the Brochure Outline.

  2. Find the template you want to use.

  3. Click Use.

This will create a Custom Page based on the template.

Editing Templates vs. Custom Pages

Editing a Custom Page

  • Changes apply only to the current deal.

  • Safe for adding deal-specific data or modifications.

Editing a Template

  • Click the pencil icon next to the template.

  • Changes affect the base template, not existing custom pages already created from it.

Managing Templates

You can manage templates in the following ways:

  • Edit existing templates using the pencil icon.

  • Create new templates using the + New button in the Templates section.

  • (Coming soon) Manage templates from Settings for a centralized experience.

Reordering and Placement

Once a template is used and becomes a custom page:

  1. Locate it under Custom Pages in the Brochure Outline.

  2. Drag and drop it anywhere in the document.

    • Example: Place it within a section like Market Overview.

The system will render the template content in that location.

Use Cases

  • Sources & Uses pages

  • Market summaries

  • Investment highlights

  • Custom visual layouts

Unlike legacy systems that limit you to a few custom pages, this feature allows you to create unlimited custom pages.
